This lovely ceramic planter and stand has a number of uses. It can look fine in a hall way or by an entrance as umbrella or walking stick stand. It is robust and frost proof so can easily be put out in the garden as a planter too. If you are looking for a bold statement then imagine it as a centrepiece of a side table or counter, or on the floor next to the fire place, filled with dried sunflowers. The blues really stand out and brighten any space.
After a ceramic stand has cooled down from its bisque firing, the oxides are painted on. The oxides of the Brushstroke Blues range include Cobalt Blue, Nickel, Iron Chromate, Cornflower and Bramley stains. Every slab pot is unique and contains the same colours with slight variations in touch and balance. Once a clear glaze is poured over the surface it is once more placed in the kiln for the final firing at about 1270 degrees. Each large slab pot takes up the whole space in a kiln.
Please note that while we have made every effort to represent the colours of our ceramics accurately there could be some slight variations between the colours in the photograph and those on the products.
We hand make our ceramic stands out of four large, rolled ‘slabs’ of clay and it takes two of us to put the pieces together to form our distinctive trade-mark ‘twist’ in their design.
This one measures 20 x 20 cms at the base, and tapers to a height of 37 cms.
